Even my sister’s FIVE-MONTH-OLD loved the show. His big round eyes were glued to the rink, his little head bobbing to the fabulous Disney music. And doesn’t Disney have the most fabulous music? Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid….

I think The Little Mermaid was my favourite part of the show (at least of the first half). Because the skater who played Ariel was a-ma-zing. I felt like I was watching Olympic-class skating.

After taking us through 4 Princess stories — Aladdin, Snow White (Rascal LOVED the Dwarfs!)….

…Sleeping Beauty (the music…!), Mulan, and Beauty and the Beast — there was an intermission. The Monkey and I ran downstairs and she DANCED with me, as if she herself were a princess! Did I mention she was, of course, wearing her Disney princess dress? Complete with RUFFLES and PINK? Motherbumper and Her Bad Mother‘s kids (whom we bumped into on the way out) were ALSO wearing their dresses!

After the intermission, we were treated to the entire Cinderella story….

Bippity bobbity boo! And we loved it.

I got teary-eyed at one point in the show. Because this production was so wonderful for the kids: the settings, the costumes, the choreography, the skating were all pretty spectacular — and it was all FOR THE KIDS. Fahklempt! And I got teary-eyed because the show succeeded in bringing ME back to my own childhood, and my dreams and belief in magic.

Pure+Simple

It’s hard for me to keep up with four Cheaty Blogs, as you can see by the scarcity of Recommendations on this blog! So, when I do recommend something here, you have to know it’s GOOD — if I’m taking the time to actually post it!

Today, I want to recommend the best natural foundation on the market these days. Of course, it’s by my favourite company in the world — the ONLY company I trust with my skin — Pure and Simple.

What’s particularly awesome about their new line of foundations, “Flawless Complexion,” is that the foundation not only offers superb coverage, but also nourishes, protects and hydrates the skin. It is the perfect addition to my growing collection of Pure and Simple anti-aging concoctions.

Because I’m so fair skinned, I use the Biscotti shade. At first, I was alarmed at how dark looked in the container! But, Kristen assured me that it was the right colour for me. And she was right. The foundation is so transparent that it matches my skin perfectly when I apply it. It gives me a slightly tanned appearance — without contrasting with my neck, amazingly enough. Hard to explain why that is. Basically, it gives me a healthy, natural looking boost of colour! A GLOW!

So, if you’re looking for a totally natural foundation — that’s good for your skin and, of course, the earth — I’m confident that this is your best bet.

You can purchase this item at any of the various Pure and Simple locations. If you live outside Toronto or Oakville, you can absolutely purchase it ONLINE at pureandsimple.ca. Your skin will totally thank you. And people will tell you your skin is GORJ and that you look SO YOUNG all the time!

Disclosure: I was not paid or asked to write this recommendation. Earlier this year, I was given a very small sample of it to test because I’m a brand ambassador for the company. I’ve been using the product ever since (I buy my own). As a brand ambassador, I’m given complementary monthly facials — BUT I’d never get a facial ANYWHERE but at Pure and Simple! I started representing this company years ago by my own volition because they’re the real thing and I truly love them. Cheaty HIGHLY RECOMMENDS!

I am so not kidding. Josh-O and I rented this movie after I decided THIS TRAILER was hilarious. Check it:

Well, the introductions/exorcist part was HILARIOUS, and the rest of it was cute and feel-good, so WHY NOT!? So, we rented it. And it didn’t disappoint. Mainly because there were SEVERAL name introductions throughout the movie, and I laughed hysterically every time.

“Hi! I’m Haley!” “*HA-LEY*!” Hahahahahahhhaaahahaha!! Fun-ny!

Anyway, I’m not going to do an elaborate review of this movie. The trailer really does say it all. But, I thoroughly enjoyed this. I mean, KAT DENNINGS from Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist is in it. She’s the one in the purple shirt….

And, yes, that’s Rumor Willis at the end in the “Bedazzler“ed back brace…. She actually looks really pretty in the movie. Oh, and Katherine McPhee from American Idol fame — she’s the gorj preggers one in the middle! You may recognize the redhead beside Katherine, Emma Stone, from Superbad, too; I loved her! OH OH OH, and Tom Hanks’ son Colin Hanks. And, of course, Anna Faris — “*AN-NA FA-RIS*” — was the fab star of the flick. I’ve never been a fan of hers, but I AM NOW! She was hilarious.

Anyway, great cast, funny funny, cute story, good message, perfect rental. Cheaty RECOMMENDS!
