It’s Canada Day today. And, we here in Canada are enjoying some BEAUTIFUL — hot but breezy — weather! Lots of walking, lots of relaxing, chilling by the park pool, sipping a LOVELY Starbucks Soy Chai Tea Latte….

And, then I had to go to work.

Yes. SOMEBODY in this big ole country had to work today. That’s right. I had to teach yoga over at the studio smack-dab in the middle of the day. A mommy and baby class. LOVE!

OF COURSE, no one showed up because all the moms FOSHIZZLE handed baby over to DADDY and practiced yoga ALONE or sat by the pool with posh sunglasses, pink lip gloss and bonbons…. So, it was just Rascal and me….

And, of course, I couldn’t leave right away, just in case someone showed up late. So, Rascal and I hung out. I did a few sets of sun salutations, shoulder stands, twists, and I rolled Rascal around on the big ball (which he LOVED), etc.. It was FABULOUS. What a treat to have the whole studio to ourselves.

I even popped the new CD I bought at Starbucks (with my Soy Chai Latte) into the stereo….

Yes, you caught me. I’m a closet Alanis Morissette fan. I haven’t listened to her music in AGES. But, I do BUY all her CDs. She’s a great poet, a Canadian SUPERSTAR, and she sings about a lot of things I feel passionate about — the environment, spirituality, peace, love, and so forth.

Rascal and I were surprised to LOVE this song right off the bat — it was GREAT for our yoga practice…. Check it:

Love it…. Love her voice. And, great video to top it off.

Today was quite the Canadian day for me, actually. I got a visit from my patriotic 80-something neighbour (remember her?), which is always a treat (COUUUUGH!), I loved me some Alanis Morissette, and happily read about fellow Canadian Pamela Anderson sticking it to Jessica Simpson. SWEET.

I also fell in love with my little Canadian land…. When Rascal and I got home from our special time together, we joined Monkey and Josh-O in our wee, but so pretty, backyard….

What could be better than that?

Oh, and Gorgeouses….. CURL!!!!

Tonight, we go to it’sgrandma and papa’shere’s for dinner and SPARKLERS! (You have to know by now how much I LOVE sparkles…. Weeeee!) I’ll try to score a picture for you and place it right here:

(Umm…, the dead trees in the background are a forbidden topic of discussion here…. But, ahh, the brillers effects of Canadian Winters….)

FABULOUS day, my Gorgeouses…. Thanks for letting me share, eh?

Forgive me Gorgeouses for I am sun-stroked.

It’s been a weekend of parties….

Silly, silly parties….

And, then, today, a big charity event. Outside. In the sun. Sans hat.

Okay, so while I have your attention, ahem, let’s talk about those breasts for a second. Do you mind? Because it’s ridiculous already. It seems the more weight I lose on my diet, the bigger these babies get. Don’t believe me? This picture not proof enough? Check the new video blog up at Goodies — or don’t, because I look terribly uggers (but I’m not as vain as I used to be…). I’m hoping they’ll go back to their old REASONABLE size when I stop nursing in three months and two days (not that I’m counting or anything).

My boobs and I were very proud to be at this charity event — especially since Kids Deserve Art had items in the silent auction….

…And they did very well! We’re contributing to a silent auction at another charity event next week, as well. I’m really excited to be able to contribute to these important causes with the children’s art that I sell. Makes all the challenges of running a business with two little monkeys in tow (one on my hip and one on my boob!) so worthwhile.

By the way, we’re still working feverishly on the new design for Kids Deserve Art. So, look out for that soon!

Now, go check the Cheaty Goodies video blog where MY BOOBS and I ANNOUNCE the winners of the Pure and Simple Beauty Contest AND divulge my own cheaty little beauty secrets! Enjoy (and don’t look too closely because I seriously look seriously uggers, like seriously).

P.S.: I’m frantically trying to upload my Cheaty Goodies video. Keep checking back. It’ll arrive shortly (fingers crossed).

Fahklempt. Gorgeouses. I’m fahklempt!

By the way, I’m writing this mid-day. Kids are playing on the bed as I type (boy, would I love a king-sized bed right now), clouds are rumbling, beautiful leaves kind of glowing in the haze outside the window…). Normally, I’d be checking email right now, maybe twittering, or, if lucky, reading a blog or two. But, today, I’m thinking about priorities. Emails are quick, but they can’t come before the actual work. When I put them before the actual work, I end up, like yesterday, looking for pictures of celebs in bad clothes until 2:30am, and getting but ONE lame-o gossip item off the ground. How’s that for time-management!

As I was saying…, fahklempt. I’m fahklempt because the Monkey’s finished school and WTF am I going to do with NO SCHOOL FOR 3 WEEKS. Ahem. They threw the sweetest little goodbye party, which all of us thoroughly enjoyed….

Rascal eating his Mum Mum!!

On a table, next to the food — the cupcakes — that I couldn’t eat, were yearbooks. YEARBOOKS! How cute is that? But, these weren’t just any yearbooks. No, they were ADORABLE, personalized yearbooks. Each child got his or her own. That alone touched my little black heart! (hee.) But, GORGEOUSES, LOOK at it!

A picture of her with her wee hand prints underneath!

Photos of her doing her THANG in the class room throughout the year…. OY!

Photos of her classmates….

The monkey’s artwork in plastic folder things…!

And, this. This poem. Brought on the tears. Crocodile tears.

Fahklempt.

Thank you to all Monkeys teachers for being absolutely INCREDIBLE. We love you and will miss you dearly!

12:19am….

I’m back. It’s been a long day of clingy Rascal and CARAZAY Monkey….

Sorry for the blur, but can you STAND it? Of course, I wanted to buy that hat, but it was $29.00….

And, just when I was about to say NO to this fabulous opportunity for fear that Rascal would miss me too much, it’sgrandma shook her head and said “YES. You and Josh are going. You NEED this, Haley!”

So, we went. We went to THIS, Gorgeouses….

We went to The Fiddle and the Drum…. Joni Mitchell’s latest art exhibition and album (SHINE) PLUS the Alberta Ballet Company EQUALS pure and utter wordlessness. Fahklempt. It was one of the most stunning and important pieces of art I’ve ever seen in my entire life…. A combination of art, music and dance to convey messages of PEACE, of NATURE, and of INNOCENCE….

“As an artist creating today, quite frankly, I can see no other subject matter that is of more importance now. We need people to awaken to this reality,” said Mitchell. If anyone can awaken us to this reality, it’s Joni Mitchell and this wonderful dance team….

It is much too late at night for me to do this performance any justice, and much too early for me to reflect on it, in writing. I’m still registering what I saw. The beauty (look at those magnificent BODIES), the passion (a BEAUTIFUL, SENSUAL duet between two male dancers, for example… — I’ve never seen anything like it), the emotion (a little girl frolicking about the stage….). So powerful….

Fahklempt. So very fahklempt.
