We actually got back from the country on Tuesday. But then Tuesday night we went to my parents’ house for the second seder, and Wednesday night I was preoccupied with a screaming boy who refused to go to bed, until, that is, I tucked him into my bed with the promise that I’d be back in ten minutes. And, well, of course, ten minutes turned into something like ten hours because I’ve been busy obsessing over THIS….
(He was fast asleep within two minutes, anyway, of course….) So, here’s the thing. If I’m going to call myself a social media consultant/specialist, I’d better have a Facebook account of my own — and not just sneak around Josh’s account (*cough*). If I’m going to continue working on clients’ Fan Pages, I’d better have a Fan Page of my own….
So, there you have it. I HAVE CAVED. Yes, I have caved. And, whad’ya know? There’s a whole space right down there in the comments for you to tell me that (let’s see, what have I heard so far on twitter, Facebook, email, and PHONE [what is "phone"?]), “Haha,” I have “caved,” I “couldn’t resist,” “It was only a matter of time,” “Welcome to 2006,” etc., etc.. Go for it. Have a BLAST. I deserve it.
While you blast me in the comments, I’d love some advice. What do you think a blogger should be doing on Facebook? We tend to overshare…. Do you want to see all our tweets (I’m thinking no…)? Or does that get annoying? How much is too much status updating (I have a debate going on). If you become a FAN of Cheaty Monkey (DO IT), do you expect some extra goodies (I’ll see what I can do) — like REAL fan pages?
Discuss.
Love!

Hey HaleyO
Don’t send your tweets to facebook. I’m not into twitter so much, but updating is certainly less than I’ve seen some people tweet.
Couple of times a day, unless something specific happens. I like to generally feel inspired to write something. But definitely not constantly. If you watch it for a few days you’ll pick up the pace of it.
I’d like to chat with you about a link over to my blog once it gets put together shortly. I’ve figured out my way to do it regularly with the right forum and purpose.
we’ll tawk.

I have found that sometimes it can get annoying when bloggers send their tweets to FB. Status updates shouldn’t be more than a couple of times a day, in my opinion.
Then again, what the hell do I know? heh.

I know nothing of tweets and Twitter. But glad to see you’re on Facebook, even though I refuse to join with my real name and info. Share and share some more! We love to hear all about what’s going on with you and the family. I think your peeps are pretty loyal and that’s why we care to know what is happening in your life. And goodies all always great!

April Fools’?
Lent is just about over which means that since Feb. 17, I haven’t checked fb once. I don’t know if I’m going back. I don’t have an internet career and as summer approaches, I don’t think I want to get sucked back in.

I love that you’re on Facebook. I am not an addict. I way prefer Twitter in the sense that it’s immediate.
But …
I like having Facebook, and I check it every so often. I love Fan Pages though.
As for the updates being sent from Twitter to FB – my thoughts (since you asked) it’s really really annoying when someone has it set to send every tweet to their facebook page. Like, what’s the point. If I wanted to follow your 10 million tweets a day I’d follow you on twitter (or I do – and I don’t want to read them twice).
BUT.
I like the #fb hashtag so that you just update your important tweets and then it’s interesting.
Plus if you’re lazy with Facebook like I am, then you can just update without logging in.
Wow.
I think I’ve put way too much thought into that subject.
As for the extra goodies for Facebook fans … I only see the point if you’re trying to drive people there.
Because I think (and this is subjective) if you are a fan of someone and you follow them in multiple ways i.e. twitter, facebook and blogs, then it’s just more of a hassle to have to go to one place when you should have multiple options.
Okay, again.
WAY over thinking here.

I *sometimes* post a link to a blog post in Facebook, but do so increasingly infrequently.
It’s a difficult balance to get right – how much to share – I’ve wondered about it almost continuously.
