It doesn’t take much to make me anxious — like a lot of mothers I know, actually! And one of my techniques for easing anxiety is to practice being thankful. This works because being thankful brings you back from the projected future (the anxiety) to the present, the here and now. It totally works. Anyway, checkit!
RASCAL: Evvybody luff me, Mama?
ME: Yes, Rascal! Everybody loves you!
Now, go on over to my latest post at Canada Moms Blog, and see what else I’m thankful for. Hint: it rhymes with “Shmeal Shmousewives.” But, first, DO TELL: what are you thankful for today?
Love!

I’m thankful for my PVR because I’m home sick – hahahahaha; o.k, really thankful for my husband, who puts up with me, my moods, and still is so great to me, takes pride in his kids & lets me do what I need to do, ie. taking a lot of “me” time

wow, never thought of that.
I knew that our fears project the future and we must focus on the present, but I’ve never thought of the technique ‘reflecting what you are thankfull for’. Hmm thanks for sharing!

You’re totally right about that concept. I do it all the time. (or try)
Lately I’ve been truly thankful for my friends. Life has been good but a little stressful lately. My good friend put this in an e-mail – “You do have flaws, and I do love you, but at least in my case, I don’t love you despite your flaws, but with them. ”
Doesn’t that just want to make you grateful for people who love you?
