I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte (shut it!), flipping the channels, hoping upon hope that The Real Housewives, Atlanta is on so I can see what all the hype is about. But, all that’s on is Girls Next Door, and that show irks me.
I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte thinking about my children who love their Mama and who HOLD HANDS during our daily walk around the block IN our rain boots and the dress we wore to our uncle’s wedding WHEN we were 16 MONTHS OLD…. (We love that dress.) At least we’re not wearing our cherry bathing suit and play Cinderella shoes….
I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte at 12am.
I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte and I had NO IDEA when I sat down to write that I was going to start every paragraph with I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Chai Tea Latte.
I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte, and I wonder why I’ve chosen to use the word “sip” twice in I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Chai Tea Latte.
I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte wondering how the hell I’m going to get through the rest of my life without this dreaded devil of a drink, but then I think about Mia Michaels’ So You Think You Can Dance “Addiction” piece, which sums up my relationship with this dreaded smirking devil of a drink SO MUCH whether you believe it or not — and so I post it here AGAIN (…I also post it again because have a massive crush on KUPONO, and Mia Michaels, and also have watched it at least 300 times and you should, too…, also video is better quality this time):
I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte knowing that I’ll have raging withdrawal headache when I go to my first BLOGGER BOOK CLUB meeting — oh sh*t, I’m supposed to COOK something…. Maybe my new recipe “Rice Rice Baby”? You think?
Need mushrooms.
I sit here sipping my last sip of Starbucks Soy Chai Latte looking forward to the challenge of eating ridiculously healthy and to being well and energized for my children’s sakes. Watch me, Gorgeouses. I will glow out of your screen.
LOVE!

ok…tell me again: why do you want to quite that latte stuff? why would it be bad? why do you like it so much? I simply don’t know the drink.

Well, Goof, there’s a reason I don’t drink coffee, and it’s the same reason I shouldn’t drink the caffeine, sugar and fat laden chai latte. It affects me majorly every day. Messing with my moods, triggering my anxiety disorder (the big issue here), and, I fear, my health. As you know, I’ve been trying to rid myself of this expensive drink for YEARS, and the withdrawal symptoms that occur when I quit are definite signals that I’m dealing with an addiction. I, for one, don’t think addictions are healthy on various levels.
As a vegan, starting my day with this low-nutrient feast, really, is a recipe is a disaster, especially with my anxiety-suseptible constitution.
No one really understands, but I know that this drink is bad for me physically and psychogically. It’s not a joke – even though it seems ridiculous, I know….

ah ok…yes I understand. I simply did not know it holds caffeine, fat and sugar
. Dangerous mix indeed (says goofball while sipping her Coke , after already having drunk 4 coffees ….oooops
)
I do come from the country without Starbucks, one on the airport being the only exception still.

OMG, girlfriend, I loved this. I’m going to have to one day write my own “As I sit sipping” post when I finally have the courage to quit drinking those damn mocha frappuccinos!… and I’m frickin’ craving one right now… crap!

My bestie is coming over with my latte right now…you are making me drool. Love this.
A is also addicted to her rain boots….they are too small though so I have had to hide them in the basement!
She would happily wear them on the hottest day.

do you really like chai THAT much?
maybe you can ease off with some stash decaf chai with no soy or something?
just a thought…
anyhow don’t worry about cooking anything for tonight- I’m going with some simple italian apps.
vino and some biscotti.
Usually everyone just brings something to drink and or dessert or something- but I think I have that all covered.
I’m just glad you’ll be able to make it.
sorry to make you schlep to the other end of the city.
if you need, I can forward you a map- just let me know.
see you tonight!

That addiction dance was the highlight of the entire season. So powerful. I get chills every time I watch it. It really does demonstrate how powerful a hold an addiction can have on a person. An important dance, Mia stuns me. Brilliant.
