At least twice a day — EVERY DAY — I spontaneously break out into this song….
WTF? WTF? WTF!?!
It’s been going on for MONTHS now. Maybe even years — and I only noticed it months ago…!?
Did my mother sing this to me when I was a baby, or something? Because WHYYYY? Why do I spontaneously break into the most depressing NEIL DIAMOND song ever. Several times a day?
Okay, I just asked it’sgrandma what the deal is with me and Neil Diamond. She says she has NO IDEA because she has hated Neil Diamond (not as a person) her whole life….
But, anyway…. IthinkNeilDiamondlookshotinthatvideo. There said it. Had to. Because I’m self-destructive like that.
If it’s not “Song Sung Blue,” then it’s the “Colour of the Wind” song from Pocahontas, which I love, and which makes perfect sense because I am a tree hugger….
Beautiful…! I love when I spontaneously break out into this song…. Love Pocahontas….
Do you have songs that you sing repeatedly day after day and for no apparent reason?
Discuss.
Here’s another example to get you going. My ex-coworker Tina used to break out into that La-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la-la-ah-la-la-la-la-la-la, Do-do-dee-do La-la-la-la-la-la song. I think it’s called “Loving You.” Yes, it is — by Minnie Ripperton. Check it:
Tina would break into this song ALL THE TIME and didn’t know it. I sat in the cubicle right next to her, and all of a sudden — “la-la-la-la-la!” I’d laugh so hard. I finally told her she was doing it, and she was shocked! We thought we might have to admit her to a mental hospital because of it, but NOW I understand. OH, NOW I understand….
SONG SUNG BLUE, WEEPING LIKE A WILLOWWW….

Oh, and I finally started writing my FAQ page (up there on the right). Check it! And, let me know if you have questions for me to add….

LOL! I didn’t notice how much I was getting songs stuck into my head until I started listening to my favorite radio station. Now I wake up every morning singing one of my favorites in my head…it’s like the radio has been playing all night.

I have all sorts of songs in my head! However, as sad as it is, nowadays I generally break out in Hannah Montana songs.
I also have these days when everything I say makes me think of lyrics to a song. The best song, by far, to put a smile on my face is when I wake Ady up in the morning and I say “It’s time to get up” then I start singing “Get up now Get up Now Get up out of bed…” I LOOOVE The Mom Song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMhuAtyFCrw

K, I haven’t heard of either of those songs, but I totally know what you mean! In fact one that has plagued me for years is the books of the bible song I learned as a kid. Now I named my last baby after one of the books and I am forever singing it…
Check out that baby’s breath in her hair! too funny.
Have a great week,
K

Hahaha! First, are you sure you are not pregnant?
Crying for songs, that’s typical NADINE is PREGNANT behavior.
Anyway, I get all emotional when I hear children’s songs and they sing in canon! Like you, I suspect must have heard it as a child or something.

Oh, I ALWAYS walk around singing. The Baby and I sing “A Bushel and A Peck” OVER AND OVER AGAIN, which drives my husband nuts.
I dunno about ol’ Neil being hot there, though – his hair looks like he spent a long time with a hair dryer. And I think my mom had that shirt. So you can have him.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Well, all I can say is whew…I thought it was just me that go songs stuck in my pumkin… however, in saying that the one that runs through my head is kinda country…and goes like this “do-do dah do-do da do-do da dah” in a country type diddy…it drives me freak’n nuts. I mean I could have at least have a song that has more than the same word running through out. Im just so simple, must be the maritimer in me.

I go NUTS when I have a song in my head. It drives me crazy. A couple months ago, I had a song by Mika in my head ALL THE TIME for like a month. Now every time I hear Mika, I become all nervous and anxious because I’m scared the horror is gonna start again, haha!
I love the Pocahontas song too!!!
