Okay... Let the girl with the Agricultural degree identify the fowl.

The first two pictures, the white birds with the yellow beaks are geese. And yes, they can be VERY aggressive. Some farmers actually use them like guard dogs! (General Warning: All these birds can become aggressive if provoked so always be on guard with little ones round.)

The third bird photo with the CN Tower in the background shows several kinds of fowl.

The large white ones with the black beaks are I believe Trumpeter Swans. Did you know they actually mate for life? Very Romantic.

I think most of us can identify the Canadian Geese. They have the Black and white heads. There is a GREAT movie called "Fly Away Home" that I am sure the Monkey would like when she is a bit older. The mother dies in the first scene so that is a bit scary but the girl teaches a flock of geese to migrate south following her in one of those "Flying Lawnmower" contraptions. Very good flick based loosely on a true story.

The other smaller birds look like mallards but I would have to get closer to see. The picture is a bit dark. Mallards of course are the ducks you see in the children's classic "Male Way For Ducklings". If you ever make it to the Boston Gardens to ride the Swan boats there look for the bronze statues of the Make Way for Ducklings Family!

Oh my dear Haley. Those are geese friend. Sorry to break it to you. Not swans.

(mean friend laughing)

I love you, I'm so sorry you had a crap weekend. That's precisely why I don't leave my house. I hate people and lines. LOL

Those big cheeks and pouty lip and teeth? He would be a mess because I wouldn't be able to stop kissing him. My son is already annoyed with me because I am always asking him for kisses. Anyway, I hope you have a nice, relaxing morning while the Monkey is at school.

I find that geese, ducks and swans are nice to look at, but I don't get too close. Geese in particular can be really fierce and I feel silly when I have to run away from a bird.
