Steven King also said in his book "On Writing" that it's important to read a lot too. He says something to the effect that "sooner or later you read a really horrible book and think 'hey! I can write better than that!' and then...you do!" (Then again, easy for him to say!) Anyway, hope your rascal is feeling better soon...
