I have one 10.5 y/o crib that has never been used (yeah, that was a stupid purchase!!!) It's a plan that you do have to commit to, but I think a week of it is fair. My little guy is just a couple weeks younger than yours and sleeping has been an issue with him (i.e. ME!) right from the beginning; I am OBSESSED with it. He did not have a nap in his crib until he was six (yes, six) months old. And now he naps and sleeps in his crib with little to no crying. It was painful when we initiated the plan, but I have to tell you, if Ferber did one thing for me, it made me better able to tolerate the crying!
