Okay. Longest day EVER!? Look at me. JUST LOOK AT ME!!!

Photograph by THE MONKEY.
Heels are hurting from running after monkeys all day. Such is the life. Such is the life of a work-at-home-mom. Hardest job in the world, I tell you, as I sit here now at 10pm JUST STARTING my own work — Rascal lays dozing on his chair in front of me (God forbid I should attempt to put him in his crib tonight ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! Ahem COUUUUUGH). And, yes, blogging and all its ACCOUTERMENTS* is my work, my honey, my LOVAH. I crave it all day as I run polka-dot clad monkeys to the potty and rescue blond heads from certain floor thumpage….

Monkey REALLY MUST stop Rascal Tipping. It’s just SO WRONG.
I love to write. I really don’t know how/where I’d be now if I didn’t have this creative, social outlet…. I think I’d be a little repressed, and maybe SKINNY and RESTED?? But, anyway….
Today was a CRAZY long day packed with all sorts of wonderful but exhausting things. My favourite wonderful but exhausting thing, though, was our SALSA CLASS. Yes, I signed Monkey and I up for a SALSA CLASS (because Monkey doesn’t have enough Spanish in her life — ahem, DORA DIEGO DIEGO DORA), and today was the first class.
Since my almost-three-year-old is going on SIXTEEN, I was exhausted before the class began. Monkey INSISTED on wearing her “party dress” to the salsa class….

…I drew the line at the “princess shoes”….

Check the monkey in SALSA ACTION!

We had a great time. LOVED IT. Cha cha cha!
Later in the day, Monkey was TRAY whiny and clingy, so I made her a little tea palace….

Yeah, I just put out two chairs, threw a blanket over them, and lay out some little toy tea treats….

This kept her busy for hours HALF AN HOUR (which really is groundbreaking…), and enabled me to write a little Cheaty Recommends post on my FAVE NATURAL SUNSCREEN — which you MUST try (buy now at 15% off)….
She called her tea-party guests “my honeys.” Heh. CLASSIC, and WHERE DID SHE COME FROM???
And, now I ramble. But, it’s to be expected. Because my eyes are rolling back inside my head as I write this EXHAUSTED MUCH from lohohong day. I haven’t even TOLD you about CRAWLING RASCAL! I’m not USED to crawling. Monkey NEVER crawled; she scooted around on her butt! CRAWLING is, like, INSANITY!
Anyway. Tomorrow evening I teach that YUMUNGOUS yoga class. I’m a small-class kind of yoga teacher. I like things intimate. I like to be able to check on EVERYONE and call EVERYONE by his/her name. Also, I’m subbing for someone! I’m subbing for a GREAT, BELOVED teacher. Freaking YIKES. So, this will be a real challenge, to say the least. Of course, I’ll tell you all about it. Wish me luck!
Off to cuddle THIS GUY. I need it. Need comfort. Need dose of unconditional love….

LOVE!
xo Haley-O
* “Accouterments” is another favourite word of mine. “Accouterments” and “Yummy” are SOOO the words of the week. How ’bout you? Any favourite words? I’m really into words lately. They’re so YUMMY and ACCOUTERMENT-Y!

Salsa dancing with your kiddo…how fun for both of you! Playing pretend with a blanket as a little hide away and having tea parties are so much fun. These kiddos sure keep us busy and tired a lot don’t they. You are a great mom…your kiddos will remember these little things that you do and do them with their own kids some day!
Good luck in your yoga class tonight…I am sure you will do just fine!

Serendipity is one of my favorite words. Although Accounterments is climbing it’s way up the charts too.
I so wish I could be in your yoga class!

I’ve been outta touch lately, and returned to find your blog to be totally KICKASS! I could stay here for hours. And, I’m feeling a bit like a whiney (sp?) bitch to complain about all I have to do after seeing a day in the life of you. How the hell DO you do it? Really? We have too much in common: 2 kids (under 5 for me), an affair with the gym, trying to lose (”baby”) weight (right; he’s 15 months), love yoga class (but slacked lately due to the gym membership and the forever 10 pound weight loss goal), celebs…. Tell me your secrets…how you kick so much ass?
