I really couldn’t take a good picture of the show we went to today…. It’sgrandma treated us to the Disney Princesses on Ice show at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. I SO wanted to share it with you because, really, it was AWESOME. I expected it to be all schlocky, but it was beautiful: the sets, the costumes, the triple-axle-jumping skaters. Magnifique. I’m speaking French because I’m in Paris right now, watching The Hills premiere — which I need RIGHT NOW to be devoting FULL attention to, so excuse me for a bit. In the meantime, check the awful pics I took….

That elephant in the Aladdin segment was FABULOUS. See it? And, look how great are seats were! That is, they were great until that GREASY HEAD showed up…. Don’t you love that?

Aargh! Another awful pic. They wouldn’t STOP MOVING! heh.
‘Kay, show’s over. It was aiight. Lauren Conrad was wearing WAY too much foundation in the live premiere — notice that? Anyway….
I think the best part of the day, though, was just being downtown. Downtown Toronto is really quite lovely. I should go there more often. I’m always amazed at how energetic and inspired I feel when I’m down there….

The view from the street I was walking on — on the way to the show…. Front Street. Not that I EVER know where I am….

That would be our famous Skydome….

There I was today! Right beside the CN Tower. Love it. (The rascal was with me, by the way, and monkey was with it’sgrandma.)
AND, NOW…. As promised. The rascal’s final photo send-off…. I mean, I couldn’t just turn off the photos without giving you one. last. photo. of rascal’s face…. (It’s so hard for me!) So, here’s rascal and I enjoying the show together….

Isn’t that hair in front of my eye, like, soooo annoying?
Why am I no longer posting pics of Rascal’s face? Many of you asked this question in last post’s comments, so I thought I’d address it here. Also addressing it here because we all know how GAWRSH AWFUL I am at emailing you all back these days….
Basically, I don’t post pics of my kids’ faces because I’m a paranoid PARANOID person. This site (for some strange reason) gets a LO-HO-HOT of visitors. All y’all know me, but I don’t know all y’all (I didn’t even know I was from Texas, apparently), you know? So, who KNOWS who’s looking at these pics. Makes me a little anxious. And, as you probably know by now, I try to avoid anxiety LIKE THE PLAGUE!
‘Nother reason no pics: I don’t want pics of my kids dragged off this site and plopped onto other sites — especially if their pics are used inappropriately. I KNOW this happens all the time to nice bloggers.
‘Nother ‘nother reason: I don’t post pics of my kids’ faces because how do I know if my kids are okay with it? It’s my way of respecting their privacy…. Sort of. Check the monkey PICKIN’ HER TOES!!! Ha!

This is PAYBACK for HER calling me BIG MAMA!

Look at her go! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!

Heeee!
Anyway, it’s really as simple as that. Paranoia, Pic-stealing, and Privacy prevent me from sharing my kids’ faces here. The three P’s! Thanks so much for understanding, Gorgeouses….
Love! xo Haley-O

I respect your decision of not showing your monkeys faces. I plan to be a mommy blogger when I start my family and I will do the same. Can you imagine when your kid starts school and the other kids make fun of them because of embarrassing stories you post on your blog. Nope… its best for to keep you kid’s name and face hidden

My hubby says that Monkey’s toes are just the cutest:)
That photo of you and rascal is so gorgeous, he so has your eyes Haley!

cool pictures…I didn’t think they allowed pix at the ice show as the flashes can disturb the skaters. oh well. did anyone fall?
I totally get your no faces thing…it’s why my child has a fake name and you don’t see her all that often on my blog. But I do use her sometime. I should go google her to see what comes up. I have a friend who’s kids pix have been lifted. She had posted about some sillyness the kids had done and found her pix on a blog mentioning crazy kids. she wasn’t too happy about it either as I believe that they hotlinked the photo too. but it was easy to pull. LOL!

Wise decision – esp. for the safety of your kids. Will miss seeing those saucer eyes and humongous cheeks, tho!

I get that why you won’t post faces anymore. It makes sense!

I really wanted to go see Disney Princesses on Ice with my son. But, I wasn’t sure if he’d sit through it, and I was a Little worried I’d go into labour.
Totally get the pic thing.

Soooooo gonna miss the Rascal’s Beeuutiiifully adorable cute face… but I understand… I’m sure we’ll learn to love the back of his head as well and don’t stop with the cute feet pics… don’t babies have the cutest feet?
Maria said, March 25th, 2008 at 7:55 am
Rascal’s cheeks – OHHHHH!!!! Want to squeeze!!! He is so cute, he looks like you.
I would like to know, why did they change “Disney on Ice” to “Princess on Ice”?! What about all the little boys out there?! I mean, I know I can take my boys BUT is it as appealing to them? I get so annoyed when there are more things geared to girls than boys…am I complaining about nothing here? I don’t know…

You are such a pretty lady, gotta tell you that…it’s no wonder your kids are so cute. I hear you on the whole paranoia factor, I’m so paranoid I feel I can’t even write the posts I want to write. I’ve never even showed a picture of my kids without showing their faces.

Omigod! You mean, some of my pictures might be being used inappropriately somewhere! That is so cool! Where? I gotta see this! I hope they’ve pasted my face to Raquel Welch’s body!
Yeah, I can get how you don’t want your kids exposed to the WHOLE DAMN WORLD, which is what this is. No worries. We imagine them however we want to, and that’s better! Right?

It’s too bad because he’s so darn cute but I totally understand. I shut down my blog and facebook account for the same reason. Btw love the monkey’s jeans!

Bummer, I’ve enjoyed watching him grow, yet I totally understand. I sometimes freak out about posting pics of myself on my blog… being a teacher and all. Adios Rascal!

I think your reasons for no kid pics are good ones, for sure. I changed my whole blog to something more anonymous at one point. I post way less pictures now too. It is hard to know what to do.

I struggle with the photo thing too. It’s a difficult decision. Lots of perverts out there.
But I do give my kids some editorial control when I write about them. I don’t want to invade their privacy (too much.)
And you look fantastic!
