Bet you didn’t know I used to be an artist? I LIVED for the ARTS.
By the way? I had this YUGE LONG BRILLERS post for you today. And, for some HORRIBLY AWFUL reason, IT DISAPPEARED. There were pictures of Minden and everything. It was awwwwwesome. And, it’s gone.
Seriously, though? I ACTUALLY poured my heart out to you in that post. And, freaking post is gone gone gone and now I’m totally spent and I can’t pour heart out again because it snuck back in and it flat out refuses to pour out AGAIN. Maybe it’ll pour for you again tomorrow. Anyway, your stuck with….
…13 Celebrity Artists!
And, that’s all you’re getting. Not my fault. It’s heart’s fault. Blame heart.
So, I used to be an artist. Got accepted at a prestigious school and everything (tooting. own. horn. classy). I guess I still am an artist. I mean, you don’t really STOP being an artist…. I just don’t have time to paint these days (obviouuuus). Instead of painting, THUS, I write — it’s a hellova lot less messy, and it’s creative like. Plus, I can live vicariously through the truly fascinating artists I work with at my art site.
Anyway, I thought this list would be a bit boring, but it got très intéressant for me…. Hope you enjoy it, too. I just listed the celebrity artist’s name and one representative work — plus, if possible, a pic of him/her at work. Coo. Check it!
1. Paul McCartney, Unspoken Words

2. Jane Seymour, Mother and Child on the Beach

3. David Bowie, Self-portrait

4. Sylvester Stallone, Joan’s Life

5. Anthony Hopkins

6. Joni Mitchell, Travelogue

Now I come to think of it, I remember an interview with Tony Bennett in which he talked about painting. I didn’t know about the others though.

I truly enjoyed that! Had no idea most of those celebs were artists. Always wish I was an artist – such a wonderful talent!!! My 4 year is well on his way – apart from being a proud mom, his drawings kick a**!!! He adds such details, can draw a shark or dinosaur way better than I can.
Re: yesterday’s post – rascal looks SOOOOOOOO freaking adorable in his bumble!!!! I just want to squeeze those cheeks – so so cute!

That was fascinating.
I had no idea all those people painted.
We have a book of John Lennon’s art that someone gave my son. It has the words to the song imagine. It’s pretty cool.

What a great list. My husband is an artist and he’s also a fairly good musician. We were talking one day about how a lot of creative people are creative in more than one way. This list proves it. Thanks for putting it together.

Dude, where’s Jerry Garcia?
I wanted to keep it limited to living artists. Maybe I should have specified. Otherwise, John Lennon has great art, too….

I love the Jane Seymour one…how utterly Impressionistic. (Impressionism is the only part of art for which I know the terminology, so I use it ever chance I get!)

Another great one this week. I was shocked that Lucy Liu was an artist. Another celebrity that was known for his arts was Jerry Garcia, he had a line of ties w/ his prints on them.
My TT is about the early death of celebrities.

I have zero painting talent. But would you believe I took a painting course in university? The only reason I took it was because there were no exams. We had to paint five paintings … it was fun but mine were soooooooooooo bad! Ha!
