I walked for 3 hours today. And, just LOOK at my feet:

Hee…. LOVE elephants!
But, seriously, now. I’m not going to show you my swollen preggers feet on this blog. I don’t want to scare you away or anything. And, I want at least A WEE CHANCE at winning the HOTTEST MOMMY BLOGGER AWARD…. A-ny-way, I thought you needed at least a visual. So, these elephant feet are very close to what my feet look like right now. I really thought you should know that. Thank you, elephant!

The monkey was enthralled by the elephants and their “tukth” (tusks). Maybe because The Elephant looks so much like her Mama right now…. Oh, and check the hot blond in the pic! It’s it’sgrandma! Hee. It’sgrandma (my mom) treated us to this — the monkey’s first Toronto Zoo adventure. And, I was SO grateful for her presence because, even with injured shoulder and broken toe (clutz much?), SHE did much of the lifting and bending while I just tried to keep walking as my hands and feet throbbed and swelled beyond capacity….
Hey, did you know they have cows at the Toronto Zoo? I sure didn’t. But, there was at least one. Josh got a great picture of said cow….

Moooooo! And, yes, since you asked…. That’s ANOTHER stain on my right breast. See it? Josh thought we should wait till it dried to take the picture, but I said “whatevs, THE PEOPLE want the truth.” It was frozen fruit bar — just FYI.
So, we spent our holiday Monday at the zoo. Haven’t been there in years. I was absolutely CRAZY to go there at 36.2 weeks preggers in this heat. But, I managed to get through it without going into labour. Something tells me, too, that I was one of the zoo’s main attractions today…. People didn’t know whether to look at my breasts or my belly….
Anyway, great day…. Totally made up for yesterday’s THAT-PLACE debacle…. Watching the monkey enjoy the experience with wide innocent eyes was so awesome…. How can one be even more in love every day?

Like, an hour ago? I thought I was going into labour? Because I had all these (mild) crampy sensations in my lower belly? But, then I got indigestion. Still have indigestion. Definite sign that I am, indeed, NOT in labour. New Baby is still high up there…, smushing all my organs together. Good thing. I’m not packed for l’hôpital yet…. And, I’m too lazy after my big day of zoo walking to go into labour tonight…. As uncomfortable as I am, I’m enjoying these last weeks with FULLY grown baby within me because it’s pretty darn cool….
Apparently, 36 weeks is “full term”, my nurse explained to me at my last visit to the OB — so, as Dora says, “WE DID IT”! But, I can definitely wait till we’re closer to September 30th to go into labour. I have LOTS more chocolate to eat, and lots more kicks to enjoy (especially when lying quietly in bed…with Minden).
I still can’t believe it’s SEPTEMBER already! I’m so excited….

Tomorrow, I’ll be sure to show you the new nursery dresser/change table we’re getting COME HELL OR HIGH WATER. We’re thinking Sears.

CANADIAN IDOL: CARLY RAE JEPSEN needs to win. The other two whatstheirnames PALED in comparison, literally. And, I never use that phrase. She was just…beyond tonight. OMIGOSH, I JUST VOTED.

Are you sure you’re not seventy million weeks pregnant?
TRANSFORMERS!
(I’m gonna say that till you see it, dammit!)

Wow! You are one Awesome woman to go to the zoo that pregnant. I’m so glad that you’re still feeling okay…and I don’t know what the nurse was smokin but 36 weeks is not full term…it’s 38. But if the baby were to decide on an early appearance they wouldn’t be too concerned…so you should try your best to make sure that baby stays put until the birthday. They are so much easier to raise on the inside.
Glad you had fun at the zoo. My friend in Portland went too and said they had a great time.

Looks like you had fun at the zoo. And I was ginormous, and my water broke at 36 weeks 3 days so be careful!!!
The room looks like it’s coming along very cute!

The zoo! we went to the zoo this weekend too, but ours was a very sad little zoo and I couldn’t bear to take pictures.
That is a great picture of you, btw. My dr also said 36 weeks was full term, and the monks was born at 37.5 weeks.

We love the zoo too! I would have loved to run into you there…
I am just catching up on the 70+ posts I missed while we were away. Checked in here first to make sure I didn’t miss the baby’s debut…I am still holding firm on the boy thing.
I guess the countdown has begun. Glad to hear you are feeling alright given the circumstances. I am going to pop over to catch up on my gossip now.

You’re a brave woman! With my second and third, I was afraid to venture too far away from home and do too much at the end, because my biggest fear was giving birth not in the hospital (I have FAST labours). Having said that, I was in my sister’s wedding at 36.3 weeks, then had Luke at 37.0 weeks. He was 9lbs 10oz. and they were making a big deal about him being *just* full-term.
