I realize that most people HATE MONDAYS. I, on the other hand, LOVE MONDAYS. Why? Because (as many of you know) I get the morning off. It’sgrandma takes the monkey for the entire morning, and over lunch. Can you say…”HEAVEN”? Ahhh…time to myself.
After yesterday’s insanity, I decided I needed some sweet Monday retail therapy. What I really wanted was to go to my FAVOURITE spa/skincare/cosmetics store, Pure + Simple (where I once bumped into the famed ballerina KAREN KAIN!). Specifically, I wanted some kind of body mist. Because I decided I should start smelling really nice. I mean, something’s gotten into me: you’ll be VERY happy to know I’ve become addicted to showers. I just love that clean feeling because, when you’re preggers, it’s VERY easy to slip into that gross feeling. So, now I want to take it a step further and SMELL freshly-showered all the time, and irresistible. (HORNDOG!)
Problem was, though, that every scent — as LOVELY as it was — made me want to hurl…. The fruity, clean, edible smell I was looking for doesn’t actually exist. And, for preggers me, no smell is a good smell for long….
So, instead of the fantasy body mist, I ended up buying my favourite collagen gel, a new avocado “borage” moisturizer, and a chocolate-brown eyeliner (all-natural, of course).

Yeah, I threw out all my MAC and Clinique and Yonka stuff a long time ago, in favour of the all-natural stuff. All the celebs are using mineral makeup like this, and they’re using natural skincare lines like Pure + Simple and Jurlique. Hilary Duff bought Jurlique stuff at Pure + Simple when she was in T.O…. So, if CELEBS are using this stuff, we should, too…, naturally!
And, no, this is not a product endorsement…. Although I DO get random emails all the time asking me to review laundry detergents and organizers and stuff that who-has-the-time-for (no thank you!). But, I DID tell the perfect-skin ladies at Pure + Simple that I’ve recommended their stuff on this blog (‘cuz you know I have a bunch of times), and THEY GAVE ME A 10% DISCOUNT! See how nice they are? LOVE!
Omigosh, I’m being the LAZIEST blogger right now. I’m not even thinking about what I’m writing, and I’m practically lying down — can’t be bothered to sit up straight. And, I know nothing BRILLERS can come out of that. I think it’s because Canadian Idol is on right now, and it’s SO LAME, and it’s draining me of all my life force and creativity.
But, I do have one thing that I HAVE to show you. Even if I can’t lift my lazy head up to type it out. Check it.
You know the monkey? Well, she’s a diva (as a lot of you know by now). She’s not even 2 years old yet, and she MUST wear what she wants to wear. Problem is…LOOK at what her favourite outfit is!!!:
My parents brought this back for her from South Beach (umm, thanks?). And, the monkey LOVES it. She pulls it out of her dirty-clothes basket practically every day and tries to put it on herself. Of course, there are SCREECHES when I say “no.” Today was the big day, though — fave outfit was clean. I put it on her, and Ms. Diva ran right to the mirror, yelling, “Show Monkey! Show Monkey! OooooooOooooO! Sooooo COOT!” Listen to her!?
Too bad her tummy’s totally growing out of the shirt. Looks like tacky-South-Beach-outfit days are almost over….
zzzz…. Snort snort! Oh, fell asleep while you were looking at big monkey tummy. Better go sleep. Later Loves! xo Haley-O

I must look into this make-up you speak of. My friend is trying to get me into Bare Essentials but I have not made the jump yet. In the summer, all I wear is masacara and lip gloss anyway. Unless it is the rare occasion that I get to go out, in which case, I Paris Hilton (plus 300 lbs) myself out!

I love that shorts set. Well, on the monkey anyway. Kids always love the tackiest stuff. But, they can pull it off!!!

Have you tried Burt’s Bees makeup? I *love* it! Of course my idea of makeup is tinted moisturizer and lip gloss! Monkey is totally adorable, and I can so relate to the mini-diva synrdome (I’ve got two, remember!). Bridget got an early b-day present from her her g-parents, a dress, and when she pulled it out of the bag she said, “Ahhh cute!”

Love that tummy! I’ll have to checkout Pure and Simple next time I’m mid-town.

When I make it to Pure +Simple I will make sure to tell them that you sent me.
My in-laws purchased a similar outfit. I have convinced the girl it is PJs. Try that.
Outgrowing the clothes does not seem to concern my diva.

I have a trick that I use for DD’s outgrown clothes. But I have to be on my toes because sometimes I do miss it. I have a bag hanging in my laundry room and as soon as the too small item comes out of the dryer…it goes directly into the bag. The bag is up high enough that DD can’t see or get into it and “out of sight, out of mind”…well I have to admit that she sometimes will ask about a missing item and I just play dumb and then donate it to charity.
Thanks for your prayers. Mom was moved to ICU last night but is now being treated by a specialist and FINALLY got some tests done (that I thought should have been done in March when this whole mess started.) No word this morning…hopeing that means good news.

Does the Monkey have a little one piece bathing suit? Put that on under her favorite oufit and she can get a few more weeks wear out of it.
Canadian Idol is the worst thing ever.
Hey, how come I never get asked to review stuff? Geez!

Love the belly:) We have fav outfits at our house too. They involve mixing normally nice outfits though and not brushing our hair so you’re not too bad really!
Love the post!

Hi Haley! Thanks for stopping by! Don’t be hard on yourself for being a lazy blogger. You deserve a rest! There will be plenty of time for blogging down the road. And, by the way, you look terrific pregnant!

How cute is she? My dd has an outfit like that, my mom bought her this lovely backless halter top and board shorts in hawaii. I hate hoochie on toddlers, lol. But dd adores it, asks for her ‘trunks’ all the time.

Love the little belly! It would take all of my power to not zorbert that if I saw her (and knew her too, of course!).
jenn said, June 27th, 2007 at 2:25 pm
what is up with the fave outfit thing. K-bug loves her blue dress and wants to wear it all day and to bed as well. It’s getting much to short and since we’re potty training when she bends over everyone gets flashed. I let her go commando at home, it’s so much easier, but I don’t think they neighbor’s appreciate the indecent exposure.
Anyway, glad you got some time and found some fun things to buy. I like the sound of natural face stuff and makeup. I’ll have to check it out.
