My morning sickness has returned in full swing this weekend. I’m so nauseous and dizzy and tired and indigestiony I can barely compose a sentence. So, I’m going to use the “I’m pregnant” excuse — now that I can, after 3 months of not being able to — for why this post is, erm, less than inspired….
I’ll use the little energy I have left right now to tell you about the ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS. I’ve been begging the universe for help with our little bath-time issue. See, we figured it out. The monkey’s PETRIFIED that she’s going to poop in the tub again. (And, there I was all excited about her pooping in the tub and saying “poo poo”…little did I know how utterly traumatized she was by the event!) It’s heartbreaking to see her freak right out when I tell her it’s bath time. She won’t even sit down in the water, and when I get in with her, she clings to me, shuddering “poo poo”! So so so so so so sad!
Anyway! After 2 weeks of hellish bath times, we’ve found a solution. Here it is:

This thing totally rocks. The monkey’s so excited to play with her “floating island” at bath time now. She’s even stopped CRYING! Instead, she’s sliding Diego down the slide and singing “DIEEEEGO!” And, not surprisingly (cheaty little thing that she is), the monkey LOVES Swiper — so, she LOVES watching him appear and disappear in the tree trunk. If you have bath troubles, or if your kid loves Dora and/or Diego, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Oh, and, by the way? The next Pussycat Doll is…..

She was ALL over this boa at Indigo this weekend. The salespeople, of course, were getting mad. Whatevs, suck it. LOVE!

drama… boas… sounds like we have a diva in training!
SO sorry your morning sickness is still so persistent. Have you tried peppermint tea? That used to help. Also, there’s these all-natural “Preggie Pops” that really helped with nausea. Let me know if you cannot find them.

Poor baby! If it gets too bad ask for some zofran. I took it for morning sickness and it saved my life.
Rebecca said, March 26th, 2007 at 9:41 am
Ha! The Baby is sitting on my lap, and when I scrolled down the page she shrieked “MY TOY!”. Guess who else has that!

The Easter Bunny may be hopping by with the Dora Bath Toy. Right now the monsters are playing bath flutes – even the good bathroom acoustics can’t help that orchestra!

Ooh the poor little thing. LOVE your solution though!

Bath toys rule. We had a several Batmen figures and a boat, and cans of colored foam that were big, big hits. Also those foam letters they can stick on the wall and spell things.

Morning sickness must be terrible, I didn’t have it for either of my children. Just lucky I guess.

Love the boa!
I use to try and do it slowly and make it fun to wash his hair.. didnt help. Now i just brutally dump water on him fast LOL … Hey it gets it over with fast!
Im glad to hear Calebs not the only tub hater. He hates bathtime! Recently he has loved it because Nana got him NEMO TOYS… but he still hates washing his hair, screams his brains out!
Oh well, he’ll get over it

Salespeople were upSET? OH.NO. Not at a cute little monkey…that’s so WRONG.
Glad you figured bathtime out…I wouldn’t have had a clue! And Dora? Talked to K tonight, she said “listen”. Asked the princess – ‘who is this’? I hear a faint ‘Dora’. Plain as day. I’m still ANMA!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that’s fine with me.

Awww pooor little Monkey! That would be traumatizing. As is being forced to go into a hot tub with your neighbours kids that creep you out and discovering a big floating poo. That happened to someone I know very well but who shall remain anonymous. Extremely traumatizing.

distraction is usually one of the best solutions. Glad you found something that works.

I can’t believe I did’t get to this post until today. I laughed so hard when I saw the floating Dora bathtime adventure. I can’t even say Dora without Jack running to the TV looking for her. I was so close to buying him Dora rubber boots, but since they were hot pink I stiffled the urge (conformist of me I know). Jack loves bathtime but this may be in his future anyway since he loves his Dora.
Thanks for the laugh, perhaps it’ll get labour moving.

We have that EXACT SAME DORA bath toy set for our (3 year old) daughter! Yep – it’s a hit, that’s for sure.
