I thought I’d give Thursday Thirteen another go — because Ali makes it look like so much fun (and she makes it look so good — I totally stole her format because it’s perfection). I missed this. So, here’s a list of thirteen concerts I’ve been to, in no particular order….
1. Stevie Wonder

2. Boy George

3. Lollapolooza
4. Janet Jackson

5. Michael Jackson

6. Bruce Springsteen

7. Pink Floyd

8. Sarah McLachlan

9. Bob Dylan

10. Liberty Silver

11. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

12. The Band

13. Sha Na Na

Wow, that’s alot of concerts.
These stars hardly come to Malaysia, so I don’t the chance to see them.
Adam said, October 12th, 2006 at 1:29 am
The one downside of the baby thing has been fewer concerts…in fact less money for music and cocerts in general…funny how priorities change! Music has always been a part of my life, so this is lots of fun- also 13 I missed that still hurt!
Erykah Badu (twice)
1) The Dead- in one form or another (10 times- I’m a deadhead, what can I say)
2) Dylan (7 times)- November in T.O. again!!
3) Springsteen (4 times)
4) Dire Straits/ Mark Knopfler (3 times)
5) Gypsy Soul (back in the day twice!!)
6) Paul McCartney (Thrice)
7) The Bangles (my first concert- Susanna Hoffs is still my secret girlfriend)
9) Tom Petty (twice- Wildflowers tour was a hell of a show!!)
10) Steely Dan (twice- awesome shows!!)
11) Radiohead (at Molson Park in Barie- amazing!!)
12) Dave Matthews Band (3 times back in the day)
13) U2- Zooropa outdoor broadcast at the Ex
Now how about the shows I didn’t get to go to that I still regret!
Radiohead at the ACC 2000- Histology test first year of chiro
1) Paul Simon’s Graceland Tour – at camp
2) Paul’s Rhythm of the Saints tour- grade 7 speech the next day
3) Peter Gabrial’s Us Tour- working at the movie theatre?
4) Mark Knopfler at Massey Hall- $$
5) Grateful Dead in Toronto in 95- the show that never happened because Jerry died- would have been on Kol Nidre!
6) Tom Petty at the Amphitheatre a month ago- busy
7) Pink Floyd’s division bell tour- first week of camp. no days off.
9) Neil Young 2000 – orientation week at chiro 1st year
10) Phish 1995 in Niagara Falls- bad weather to drive
11) Coldplay this year- baby
12) Ben Harper this year – baby
13) U2 this year- baby

Which Lollapalooza did you go to?
My first was Aerosmith. Lots of death metal bands in the 90s. Marilyn Manson was about the best I’ve been to. System of a Down is the only recent one.

Nice list! I haven’t been to 13 concerts in my lifetime. My favorite concert was Of a Revolution at the House of Blues. It was a fun venue and they were good live. I would love to see Sarah McLachlan!
UrbanDaddy said, October 12th, 2006 at 12:36 pm
LOL.
Who HASN’T seen Sha-na-na. LOL.
Seriously, though… who has, besides Haley? You mean they really existed? All I remember is Bowzer, and I’m a few years older than you Haley.
Were they not the guys on Laverne and Shirley? Lenny and Squiggy?
Oh yeah!
Chelle Y. said, October 12th, 2006 at 12:42 pm
Wow, what a variety of different types of groups and artists.
I loved Sha Na Na when I was a little girl.
Michelle said, October 12th, 2006 at 12:47 pm
Sha Na Na??? That’s a hoot. Steve Miller, The Ocean Blue, Def Leppard . . . I’m not as well-traveled in that area. I’ll kill to see U2 though.
Jenn said, October 12th, 2006 at 2:25 pm
The only concerts I’ve ever been to have been symphony concerts and I’ve been to tons of those. Some day I’ll make it to a real concert, *sigh*
Crazy Fat Chick said, October 12th, 2006 at 4:01 pm
Impressive. I have only been to three concerts in the past 20 years.
Shane Melton said, October 12th, 2006 at 5:27 pm
Cool blog. My first concert was INXS/Gogo’s at Six Flags in Atlanta. Bad music, good memories!
Peggy said, October 12th, 2006 at 5:41 pm
Damn dude, that’s a lot of concerts. I have not been to 13 but even if I had, I’d never admit to Michael Jackson you dweeb!
Come over and say Hi. I gave you a shot out on my blog.
Amanda said, October 12th, 2006 at 7:26 pm
Wow, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young brings me way back to when I was a kid–my Dad always used to listen to them when we were driving up in his pick up truck to visit my Grandma!
You do have a huge variety of concerts here, they do take you through the years, that’s for sure
JO said, October 12th, 2006 at 7:39 pm
i haven’t seen any of these concerts… guess i’m not the concert type of person.
thanks for visiting my blog.
Adam said, October 12th, 2006 at 8:36 pm
I never really thought about it, but as I looked at the picture, I think Boy George might have been gay. Where and when did you have the opportunity to see him in concert?
This exercise really shows a lot about people. I think palmtreechick may be from down south…just a guess.
Brony said, October 12th, 2006 at 11:42 pm
I think that I’ve been to three concerts, with Dora the Explorer be one of them. How pathetic is that.
Happy TT!
