Okay. I just sat through a Thanksgiving feast. My mother outdid herself. She made turkey, stuffing (she never makes stuffing — well, not this kind of stuffing), carrots and pecans, quiche (yummy cheesy quiche), mashed potatoes, and there was PIE and there was CAKE.
I ate…
broccoli.
Oh, and lettuce.
And, I watched them feast.
Mouth…
agape…
drooling….
But, we’ll not talk about that right now. No.
Since still despairing about sorry Thanksgiving feast, I’ll tell you how good a wife (and mom, but of course) I was today — with more pics and less words because I’m tired, and I feasted on broccoli at a table full of feast.

Josh was all kinds of stressed today. Check it:

So, I thought I’d be a good wife (even on detox). And, I got me an idea. Hmmm:

I thought we’d go to Harbour Front, which is arguably the most beautiful area of Toronto. Check out this city!
The CN Tower (and the Dome — that arch to the left of it):

Lake Ontario, gorgeous boats. Oh, to be by the water at the edge of urbanity! Beautiful, relaxing. And, ahh, to breathe!:

The peaceful marina:

There was a Fall festival: “Havest Fest.” The monkey rode a pony for the first time! Look how cute!

This was a bit of a challenge for me, by the way. I had to both hold her steady and make sure Pebbles (the pony) didn’t step on my feet….
I fell in love with this pony (I wanted to take him home!):

I fixed his mane so he could see:

After the pony ride, we were treated to a dog show! This wasn’t the Best In Show kind of dog show. The dogs were scruffy (just how I like ‘em!) border collies, and they were so sweet, excited, and into the show. The monkey loved it! Her big hazel eyes were glued to the dogs with major curiosity and enjoyment. And, I was cheering up a storm!

Such a great day. Josh was definitely less stressed after this mini-holiday in our own city.

Oh, one last thing? While everyone was laughing at me at the Thanksgiving dinner tonight, I was laughing at my brother and Josh because — can you believe? — they showed up wearing the same T-shirt! [Update: Yes, it was totally random!] How funny is that?:

Mmmm…that’s brie they’re diving into…and wine…and Coke (mmm…sugar…).Well, sigh, g’night. 4 more days of detox to go.
I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving feast, or your Columbus Day (friends in the US). Hope you ate some good food.

Girl, you have more willpower than I do- I could never withstand the temptation of potatoes and quiche and stuffing. Man I love carbs.

thanks for the comments on my site, and about those words that Samantha says, she doesn’t say them perfectly, I’m only guessing that it’s what she says lol…

No, not the brie and chardonnay chattering class elites!!!
Say it isn’t so. LOL However, the matching t-shirts are very maritime-esk and bring the whole thing back down to earth.

if it weren’t for one arm being hairy and the other not so hairy, I would have thought it was the same person.
Pebbles is a very cute pony, what fun for the monkey! What fun for you to all be out and about. Glad you had a good day, even if you couldn’t have all the yummier stuff. Brocolli is pretty good though, right?
Glad you’re feeling better!
